7-Day
Kenya Big 5 Safari
Day 1: Moving to the Tsavo East National Park
The Tsavo East and West
National Parks together form one of the largest national parks in the world.
They cover about 4% of the total land surface of Kenya. The Tsavo East is the larger
of the two. The Galana River offers some relief to this arid bush region. The park is marked by one of the
largest elephant herds. We would be arriving at the lodge after an introductory
game viewing at the park. You would enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the
lodge.
Day 2: The Tsavo West - the next destination
After breakfast, we would be leaving for the Tsavo West National Park. Lunch would be served at the lodge. The most iconic attraction in the park is Mzima Springs. The crystal clear of the chain of lakes is filtered by the volcanic rocks of the Chyulu Hills. The lakes are filled with fish and large crocodiles and majestic fig and acacia trees. The safari experiences in the two parks are quite different from each other. The safaris at this park are all about unexpected sights at a bend. There is some amazing birdlife in this sanctuary.
Day 3: Moving to the Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, there
would be a game drive. A visit to the Mzima Springs would also be done.
Crocodiles, hippos and a plethora of different fishes can be spotted. Then we
would be proceeding to the Amboseli National Park. There would be a picnic
lunch on reaching the park. Afternoon and evening game view here would be
pretty interesting. The park forms the plains below Kilimanjaro. The wildlife,
especially elephants, seen across the backdrop of the snow-capped mountain
creates amazing scenery.
Day 4: Travelling to Lake Nakuru National Park
We would proceed to
Lake Nakuru National Park after having breakfast. The lake is one of the best
places for watching birds. Flamingos are one of the main attractions here.
Picnic lunch would be done on the way and there would be game viewing in the
park. The night stay would be done at a hotel nearby.
Days 5 & 6: Moving to Maasai Mara Game Reserve
We leave for Maasai
Mara after breakfast. We would have a picnic lunch on the way. There would be
some time to relax after arriving at the camp. When the day has cooled down a
little, we would proceed for a nice game drive. The overnight stay would be
done at the lodge after a delicious dinner.
Day 7: The end of an amazing week
You would enjoy an early morning sunrise in the savannah. There would be game viewing followed by a late breakfast. Following that, we would be leisurely departing from Maasai Mara and head towards Nairobi. Lunch would be served at a nice restaurant. We would return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
